The first edition of the draft “Classifier of Waste Generated in the Republic of Belarus” has been prepared. This is reported by sb.by with reference to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection.

　　The nationwide classifier is intended for use in waste management for its identification in cases provided for by the legislation in the field of environmental protection and nature management. It establishes codes, names, degree of hazard and hazard class of waste.

　　The Classifier is used in solving such tasks as inventory of production wastes, development of instructions for their handling, issuing permits for their storage and disposal, keeping records of wastes, compiling state statistical reporting in the field of waste management.

　　The object of classification is waste generated in the process of economic activity, human activity, handling of which is carried out by legal entities of all forms of ownership and individual entrepreneurs.

　　For classification the hierarchical method with division into blocks, sections, groups, subgroups, types of waste is adopted.
